Tashkent celebrates Korean Chuseok Festival
Tashkent widely celebrated the 2026 Chuseok Festival, which showcased the Korean people’s ancient traditions, national customs, and arts.
Held at the Palace of Korean Culture and Arts, the event took place in a festive atmosphere and showcased the distinctive features of Korean national culture.
At the opening ceremony, Kahramon Sariyev, Chairman of the Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Interethnic Relations and Compatriots Abroad, highlighted the opportunities the country has created to preserve and develop the national values of its diverse ethnic communities.
Viktor Pak, a member of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Chairman of the Association of Korean Cultural Centers of Uzbekistan, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan, also congratulated the participants. The speakers highlighted the conditions Uzbekistan has created for people of different ethnic groups to preserve their culture, language, and traditions.
The event continued with a concert program featuring Uzbek and Korean national songs and music, along with dances, illusion performances, and other artistic compositions.
During the celebrations, guests sampled national cuisine and discovered traditional Korean dishes. National games, an exhibition of traditional clothing, and displays of works by Uzbek and Korean artists gave the event a distinctive atmosphere. Creative workshops for adults and children also offered participants the chance to take part in making traditional art.
The festival concluded with a K-POP Dance competition, made even more engaging by the enthusiastic participation of young people. Young artists’ performances on stage created a lively, festive atmosphere for the audience.
