Scientific research and historical evidence
An international scientific and practical conference on “World War II: Scientific Research and Historical Evidence” was held at the State Museum “Shon-Sharaf” within the “Victory Park” memorial complex in Almazar district of Tashkent.
The event was organized jointly with the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Defense and Security Issues, the “Victory Park” memorial complex under the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Uzarchive Agency under the Ministry of Justice, the SCO Center for Public Diplomacy in Uzbekistan, the military-historical society “Following the Footsteps of Ancestors”, the Coordination and Methodological Center for Contemporary History under the Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Ground Forces within the University of Military Security and Defense.

The conference was attended by the leadership and members of the Senate committee, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Uzbekistan, responsible officers of the Ministry of Defense, historians and scholars, foreign specialists, and representatives of the general public.
The participants laid wreaths at the “Matonat Madhiyasi” monument in the complex, honoring those who fell in World War II.

At the opening ceremony, Major General Hamdam Qarshiyev, Deputy Minister of Defense for educational and ideological work, delivered a speech in which he expressed gratitude to the participants and emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of ancestors.
Specialists and historians presented reports on current issues, including national military formations during World War II, the moral and spiritual character of Uzbek soldiers, the development of military art during the war, labor heroism on the home front, contributions to the victory over fascism, and the partisan movement. A presentation was also held of the book-album edition on the contribution of our people to victory, “IL Contributo del popolo dell’Uzbekistan alla vittoria nella seconda guerra mondiale”, published in Italy. Video messages from representatives of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus and from international research groups were also shown.

Following the conference, active participants were awarded certificates, foreign guests were presented with commemorative gifts, and anniversary medals marking the 5th anniversary of the “Victory Park” memorial complex were also awarded.
