President of Uzbekistan to pay a state visit to Georgia
At the invitation of the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Georgia on July 2-3.
The program of the visit to Tbilisi includes high-level talks with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The agenda will focus on strengthening friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia.
The leaders will discuss practical measures to strengthen political dialogue, deepen inter-parliamentary and interregional cooperation, expand trade and economic cooperation, and foster cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The parties will pay particular attention to promoting cooperation projects in industry, pharmaceuticals, the chemical industry, agriculture, tourism, energy, and the IT sector.
Among the priorities are cooperation in the transport and logistics sector and the creation of additional opportunities to expand the geography of Uzbek exports.
The leaders will also exchange views on current regional and international issues.
Following the summit, a substantial package of bilateral documents covering various areas of cooperation is expected to be signed.
