President of Uzbekistan highlights importance of expanding practical cooperation with Laos

On October 15, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith in Baku.

The Presidents discussed ways to take relations between Uzbekistan and Laos to a new level.

Increasing bilateral trade, strengthening business ties and advancing joint projects in transport, logistics, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, tourism and other sectors were identified as key priorities.

The importance of strengthening the legal framework for trade and economic cooperation and expanding educational and cultural exchanges was emphasized.

The leaders also exchanged views on current regional and international issues.
