Langar to turn into a landmark of Khatirchi district
Uzbekistan has many beautiful places of nature. The Langar village is characterized by picturesque nature and majestic mountains. The beautiful landscapes and centuries-old trees of Langar leave an unforgettable impression.
The village is located 50 kilometers from Khatirchi district center of Navoi region among a mountain range. In summer, the weather is fantastic here. There are streams around which tall poplars and willows with enormous trunks grow. The houses built near the mountain gorge are the decoration of the village.
As a result of research conducted by geologist Habib Abdullayev on the tungsten-molybdenum mine, Langar turned into a populated area in the mid-twentieth century. As local old-timers say, in the years when the mine and plant operated, Langar was a prosperous village. Two-, three- and even five-story houses were built here.
“My father came from the village of Kukbuloq in Nurata district and moved to Langar for work”, says Mamatqul Qodirov. “I worked here as a sanitary and epidemiological services doctor for 35 years. I am now retired. My spouse and I raised five children. They all have their own families and work in various fields. I have 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Previously, this village was very famous. Anyone looking for work could get a job at a mine or factory in Langar. Among those who worked here were representatives of different nations, but we all lived as members of a single family. Then, with the cessation of work at the industrial enterprise, many left for neighboring regions in search of income”.
The village, neglected since the 1980s, began transforming in 2019 as part of a government program. By the program, social infrastructure facilities and streets were restored in this territory, where more than 3 thousand people live. New roads and modern facilities have been built.
The source of income for the region’s residents is mainly livestock farming. Meanwhile, women are busy with sewing and handicrafts. Khosiyat Mirzayeva, being retired, continues the tradition of her grandmothers – embroidery and patchwork.
In the village, where 645 families live, special attention is paid to employing the population and developing entrepreneurship. Assistant to the District Hokim Mirzokhid Qodirov studies people’s living conditions and helps find employment for unemployed people.
If you are interested in tourism, be sure to visit the village of Langar. And then you will see the transformations taking place here with your own eyes.
