First Informal Meeting of Speakers of TURKPA Member Parliaments
The First Informal Meeting of Speakers of TURKPA Member Parliaments took place within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul.
During the dialogue, the parties highlighted the implementation of several initiatives to strengthen regional security, combat climate challenges, and expand cultural ties, resulting from an effective partnership among the leaders of the countries within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.

The participants focused on increasing the role of legislative bodies in these processes. It was noted that parliaments are becoming key institutions for ensuring sustainable development by improving the regulatory framework and exercising effective control over the implementation of interstate decisions.

The Uzbek side expressed its readiness to deepen interparliamentary dialogue among Turkic countries and to coordinate efforts in lawmaking. The development of joint projects in science, education, and economics, along with the active exchange of best practices, has been identified as a priority.
