Cooperation with Afghanistan expands

A delegation of heads of relevant departments and entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan, led by Amanbai Orynbayev, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, paid a working visit to Afghanistan.

Issues for strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, including developing trade and economic cooperation and implementing joint investment projects, were discussed during the visit. Special attention was paid to organizing the supply of Karakalpakstan products to the Afghan market.

As part of the visit program, a business forum was held with the participation of businesspeople from the two countries, during which issues related to implementing joint projects in several priority areas and strengthening partnerships were discussed.

The need to intensify contacts between the regions of Karakalpakstan and Afghanistan, as well as to make effective use of existing potential, was emphasized.

Following the meeting, 31 agreements worth over $340 million, including 27 export and 4 investment agreements, were signed.
