Cooperation on technical regulation strengthens
Moscow hosted a regular meeting focused on the partnership among the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in standardization.
Representatives of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation attended the event.
At the event, it was emphasized that expanding trade and economic ties is one of the SCO’s priorities. The discussion focused on intensifying practical multilateral cooperation, aligning technical regulatory systems, and the phased elimination of non-tariff barriers to trade.
The agenda also included current issues such as the introduction of advanced information technologies and artificial intelligence-based solutions in standardization, improving market control mechanisms to ensure product quality and safety, and retraining and advanced training for personnel.
Representatives of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation put forward several initiatives to expand practical partnership, noting the importance of strengthening cooperation in product quality assessment, harmonizing technical regulations, and introducing digital standardization systems.
A roadmap has been developed following the event.
Bilateral meetings were held with delegations from Russia, Kazakhstan, China, and Kyrgyzstan.
