Compatriots in America write to the President, pledging to make a worthy contribution to the development of New Uzbekistan
On the eve of the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a letter from compatriots living in the United States and Canada.
The letter to the Head of State was signed by Ozod Soliyev, Chairman of Vatan Global Alliance, Ezro Malakov and Muhabbat Shamayeva, People’s Artists of Uzbekistan, Sadullo Ahmedov, Chairman of the Vatan Society in Philadelphia, Bakhtiyor Qodirov, Chairman of the Vatan Society in New York, and 500 compatriots living in the United States.
In their letter, the compatriots expressed deep respect and sincere gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
They noted that presentations of the book “Millat Shavkati” (“The Nation’s Glory”) had recently been held in Philadelphia and New York. For compatriots living across the ocean yet remaining wholeheartedly connected to their homeland, these events became an important spiritual occasion that brought them together around a common goal and shared sentiment.
They emphasized that the ideas presented in “Millat Shavkati” about the large-scale transformations taking place in New Uzbekistan in recent years, the reforms aimed at improving people’s well-being and advancing the country’s development, and Uzbekistan’s growing standing on the international stage had generated great interest and a sense of pride among compatriots abroad.
According to the letter, the sincere words spoken during the presentations, the strong interest in the transformations underway in the homeland, and the pride felt by compatriots once again confirmed an important truth: oceans and thousands of kilometers cannot separate them from their homeland. Wherever they may live, they are united by one beloved homeland – Uzbekistan.
The compatriots noted that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan is taking an increasingly prominent place in the international community as a country with its own voice, a firm position, an open policy, and clear development goals. They stressed that those living abroad feel these changes particularly keenly.
They recalled that in the past, compatriots living abroad, particularly in the United States and Canada, faced various difficulties when traveling to their homeland, meeting relatives, and maintaining free and close ties with Uzbekistan.
Today, they noted, the situation has changed fundamentally. Thanks to the open, people-centered policy initiated by the President, relations with compatriots living abroad have reached a new level. Dialogue with them, attention to their views, strengthening their ties to the homeland, and engaging their knowledge, experience, and capabilities in Uzbekistan’s development have become key areas of state policy.
The compatriots also expressed particular pride and satisfaction that relations between Uzbekistan and the United States have reached a new level in recent years.
They noted that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s direct, trust-based dialogue, high-level meetings and telephone conversations with US President Donald Trump, as well as expanding cooperation with the US government, Congress, and American business circles, are contributing to growing interest in Uzbekistan in the United States.
They stressed that new opportunities are emerging between the two countries for political dialogue, trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as for interaction in education, culture, and other areas.
The authors of the letter emphasized that the policy pursued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev not only creates new opportunities for compatriots abroad but also imposes a great responsibility on them.
They noted that those living abroad should not remain mere observers of the processes taking place in Uzbekistan. Instead, they should serve as worthy representatives of their country in the countries where they live, present an accurate image of Uzbekistan to the wider public, support the interests of their homeland, and build new bridges of friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and countries around the world.
The letter noted that the activities of Vatan Global Alliance are intended to bring together compatriots residing in the United States and Canada, consolidate their intellectual, economic and social potential around common constructive goals, and further strengthen their ties with Uzbekistan.
The organization is working to expand its contacts with members of the US Congress, including Congressmen Brian Fitzpatrick and Brendan Boyle, as well as with state and local government, public figures, governors’ and mayors’ offices, business representatives, and members of various ethnic and community groups.
The compatriots expressed their desire for Uzbekistan to become even better known and discussed in the United States, Canada, and other countries around the world.
They expressed their aim to showcase Uzbekistan’s rich history and culture to the international community, highlighting the nation’s values, modern growth, and substantial economic potential.
They also identified attracting American entrepreneurs and investors to Uzbekistan, bringing new technologies, knowledge, and experience to the homeland, developing educational and cultural ties, and, most importantly, strengthening the connection of the younger generation growing up abroad with their homeland as key objectives.
The compatriots noted that the “Millat Shavkati” presentations in the United States had demonstrated another important truth: the transformations underway in New Uzbekistan and the country’s achievements resonate deeply with the hearts of hundreds of thousands of compatriots living across the ocean.
They stressed that the homeland’s prestige is also theirs, Uzbekistan’s success is theirs, and seeing the flag of Uzbekistan raised high on the international stage is a source of pride for every compatriot.
The authors emphasized that their letter was intended not only to express gratitude to the President but also to convey an important message: they stand with their homeland and will make every effort to contribute meaningfully to the prosperity of New Uzbekistan.
They expressed their readiness to contribute to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
They also pledged to use their knowledge, experience, capabilities, connections, and professional potential for the benefit of their homeland and the well-being of the people.
The compatriots expressed their strong appreciation for and support of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s efforts to transform New Uzbekistan into an even stronger, more prosperous, and more open state with a worthy place in the world.
They wished the President good health, inexhaustible energy, family well-being, and great success in his responsible public service for the prosperity of the homeland and the well-being of the people.
Taking the opportunity, the compatriots sincerely congratulated President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and, through him, the entire people of Uzbekistan on the 35th anniversary of independence. They described independence as the nation’s greatest achievement, a source of pride and a foundation for the future. They noted that ongoing international recognition of New Uzbekistan, major changes in people’s lives, and growing confidence in the future all underscore the importance of independence. The letter’s authors extended their congratulations to all compatriots, including those living abroad, on Uzbekistan’s 35th independence anniversary.
They wished Uzbekistan continued peace and prosperity, everlasting independence, and a growing influence on the global stage.
