At the 11th Annual Meeting of Heads of Customs Authorities
The 11th Annual Meeting of Heads of Customs Authorities of the States Parties to the Memorandum on the Inter-Regional Network of Customs Authorities and Port Control Units has begun in Tashkent as part of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime’s Passenger and Cargo Control Programme.
The Programme is being implemented in cooperation with the UNODC Regional Office for Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran and Pakistan.
The three-day event was opened by G. Nasirov, First Deputy Chairman of the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meeting aims to review the work results and improve cooperation in fighting transnational organized crime and the illegal trafficking of drugs, precursors, and other illicit goods.
Representatives from the customs administrations of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine will share insights on risk analysis, establishing targeting centers, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence. They will also learn about the operations of the Targeting Center, the Central Customs Laboratory, and the Customs Clearance Center managed by the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.
