A lemon plantation becomes a cluster
Lemon growing is well developed in Namangan region’s Uchkurgan district.
A three-hectare lemon plantation was established in the village of Kugay. 3.5 billion UZS were spent on it. The plantation, which has already become a cluster, is managed by experienced farmer Nosirjon Bekmuradov.
“We planted 3,400 lemon seedlings”, says N. Bekmuradov. The lemon begins to bear fruit in three years. So far we are effectively using the soil between seedlings for growing strawberries and cabbages. Last year, we earned a billion soums.
N. Bekmuradov has his lemon garden with an area of 30 acres, and in the basement, there is a refrigeration chamber with a capacity of 200 tons. In August, plans to sell 80 tons of lemons.
