Top-level domain “UZ” was registered on April 29, 1995.
Top-level domain “UZ” was registered on April 29, 1995. In March 2003, ICANN transferred the right to administer the domain “UZ” to UZINFOCOM.
With the creation of the national domain, public and private Internet projects began to develop successfully. In order to develop contactless forms of communication between the state, businesspeople and residents of the country, the Single Interactive State Services Portal was developed. This system is currently providing 176 types of public services to the population.
During the portal’s operation, 15.1 million applications have been processed, which has significantly saved time and money of the population.
Virtual Reception Office of the Prime Minister for consideration of appeals of entrepreneurs “business.gov.uz” was created to accelerate the work with appeals of local entrepreneurs and foreign investors.
In addition, in order to consider draft normative legal acts by relevant ministries, agencies, local executive authorities, using an electronic digital signature, as well as to conduct a broad public and expert discussion, the Single Electronic System for Development and Coordination of Draft Legal Acts “project.gov.uz” was launched.
Local Internet providers and mobile operators influenced the development of the national segment of the Internet. They jointly provide services using various technological solutions. Internet providers were creators of the first major Internet projects.
Currently, the number of local Internet users has reached 24 million.
