Youth parliamentarism: a space for innovative ideas and global collaboration
The 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union will take place in Samarkand in September.
It will bring together young parliamentarians under the age of 40 from various countries on a single platform.
The participants will discuss current issues related to protecting human rights, expanding youth participation in political decision-making, strengthening peace, developing inclusive governance, and enhancing the role of parliamentary diplomacy in today’s world.
The event will help strengthen Uzbekistan’s position on international parliamentary platforms, build lasting ties among young lawmakers, and expand cooperation in lawmaking. In addition to plenary meetings, the conference will feature interactive discussions, thematic sessions, and special forums to consider initiatives put forward by young parliamentarians. The recommendation that national parliaments send delegations of up to four members under age 40, while ensuring gender balance, underscores the conference’s open and inclusive nature.
