The second part of Uzbekistan – Japan practical conference was dedicated to smart city projects.
Projects were presented by representatives of the main organizers of the event – the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, as well as “Shimizu Corp” and “NEC Corporation” companies.

Cooperation between the two countries is further developing. For example, Tashguzar – Baysun – Kumkurgan railway was built together with Japanese specialists. Samarkand, Bukhara and Urgench international airports were modernized, Bukhara oil refinery was built and Fergana oil refinery was reconstructed. Activity was carried out at Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex and at a compressor station at Kukdumalak field, as well as electrifying Karshi – Termez railway line, expanding Navoi Thermal Power Plant and building two new combined-cycle turbines at Talimarjan Thermal Power Plant.

Projects presented at the conference will strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
