Uzbekistan – China: PPP-based pilot project
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Water Resources to review the results and outlook of a public-private partnership pilot project in Dustlik district, Jizzakh region.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry, officials from the Dustlik Tumani Suv Yetkazib Berish Khizmati cooperative, and specialists from the Chinese company Beijing Hrunan.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed the effective organization of water supply services in the district, the modernization of the existing system, and the introduction of modern management methods. Particular attention was given to infrastructure development, attracting investment, and defining the project’s next stages.
The initiative focuses on implementing the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of October 14, 2025, and involves organizing water supply services in Dustlik district via public-private partnership mechanisms.
This project is key to boosting management efficiency in the water sector by leveraging private-sector expertise, adopting modern technologies, and improving service quality.
The Ministry reported that, following the meeting, measures to enhance cooperation and boost the project’s effectiveness were identified.
