Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan sign Agreement on the Establishment of the High-Level Strategic Partnership Council
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and on his productive chairmanship of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan and of the Commonwealth of Independent States.



The leaders focused on further deepening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.



They noted with satisfaction the positive trends in trade and economic cooperation. Since the beginning of the year, bilateral trade has continued to grow steadily, while the Shavat – Dashoguz cross-border trade zone has operated successfully.


The Presidents emphasized the importance of adopting an Action Plan to significantly increase mutual trade and a Cooperation Program in areas such as industry, energy, transport, agriculture, and water management, including cooperation between the regions of the two countries.

Following the meeting, the leaders signed an Agreement on the Establishment of the High-Level Strategic Partnership Council, creating a strong institutional framework for further deepening political dialogue and expanding practical cooperation in priority areas.
