Uzbekistan and the Islamic Civilization Center should have their own voice

At the end of August, Tashkent hosted the International Media Forum “Islamic Civilization: New Perspective – New Discoveries”, initiated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The forum gathered journalists, media managers, and experts from numerous countries.

Uzbekistan can directly share its history and culture with international audiences by involving representatives from major professional media outlets. 

Sergey Stanovkin, Head of Commercial Representatives for BBC Studios Eurasia, stated that the forum can expand Uzbekistan and Central Asia’s presence in the global information landscape. Collaborating with major international media outlets on a single platform creates a significantly greater impact. He emphasized that Uzbekistan and the Islamic Civilization Center should develop their own voice, content, and communication strategies, as the Center has much to share with the world.

Additionally, the BBC broadcast of the promotional video “Uzbekistan – Crossroads of Civilizations” can draw in representatives from various countries to Tashkent, fostering international cooperation and bridging the gap between history and the future. 

According to him, one reason for the rising international interest in Uzbekistan is the country’s proactive engagement and its goal of leveraging its historical heritage while also shaping the future.
