Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia to cooperate to combat drug-related crime
A delegation of the Agency for Control over Narcotics and Firearms under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Agency Director Farkhod Khasanov, participated in the 35th session of the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
As part of the event, several meetings and negotiations were held with representatives of international organizations and partner states to strengthen cooperation in countering transnational drug-related crime and illicit trafficking of firearms.
In particular, a bilateral meeting with the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia dedicated to combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs was held for the first time.
The parties agreed to prepare an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation to counter drug-related crime, exchange information and experience, develop joint projects, and organize training courses and workshops to improve the qualifications of specialized experts.
