Uzbekistan and Qatar to accelerate implementation of joint projects
Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar in the energy sector is reaching a new level.
Major investment projects are important both for industry development and for strengthening strategic partnerships.
This was discussed during a bilateral meeting between the Minister of Energy, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, and the Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs of the State of Qatar, Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Sayed.
The consistent development of relations between the two countries and successful cooperation in the energy sector were noted.
Various projects are being implemented in Syrdarya, Surkhandarya, and Navoi regions with the participation of Qatar’s Nebras Power. In particular, thermal power plants are being built in Syrdarya and Surkhandarya regions, and a wind power plant will be built in Navoi region.
The parties discussed accelerating the implementation of these projects, worth more than $3 billion, the development of electric distribution networks, and prospects for new joint initiatives in other areas of the energy sector.
