Uzbekistan and China expand cooperation in the energy sector

The 8th meeting of the Energy Subcommittee of the Uzbekistan – China Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee was held in Tashkent.

The event, chaired by the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and the Head of the National Energy Administration of China Wang Hongzhi was attended by representatives of ministries and major energy companies from both countries.

During the negotiations, prospective projects in hydrocarbon production, modernization of gas infrastructure, and the construction of solar and wind power plants were discussed. Attention was also given to the digitalization of the energy sector and personnel training.

According to the ministry, following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their cooperation and expand the exchange of experience. The next meeting will be held in China.
