Uzbekistan and Afghanistan develop cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry
Important agreements were reached during the visit of Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, to Kabul.
During the negotiations with the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Afghanistan, Nooruddin Azizi, special emphasis was placed on supplying medicines produced in Uzbekistan to the neighboring state’s market.
The parties aim to boost mutual trade to $500 million soon. To reach this target, they plan to form special working groups, set up a system for supplying and storing medicines according to international standards, and sign direct contracts with major distributors.
It is expected that the official documents legally confirming the agreements will be signed in the coming days.
This initiative, aimed at expanding Uzbekistan’s export opportunities, will also help provide the Afghan population with high-quality, affordable medicines.
