Uzbek Suzani presented in Venice
At an exhibition in Venice, craftswoman Madina Kasimbaeva presented the national art of Suzani and demonstrated the embroidery process.
Ms. Kasimbaeva has been embroidering for 24 years and has been awarded the “Shon-Sharaf” Order.
Since 2007, she has been a member of the Hunarmand Association, and since 2016, of the Association of Artists, Art Critics and Folk Craftsmen of Uzbekistan.

The craftswoman’s works are held in private collections not only in Uzbekistan but also in Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, the United States, Türkiye, France, and the CIS countries. Since 2023, two chapans featuring her embroidery have been on display at the British Museum.

During the exhibition, visitors could observe the embroidery-making process.
