Turakurgan persimmons exported to Europe

Entrepreneurs in Turakurgan, skilled in cultivating cherries and grapes, have recently advanced in persimmon farming. Currently, residents in 48 out of 64 mahallas actively grow this fruit.

Kalvak mahalla is home to 1,054 families, and visitors to local households are greeted by clusters of persimmons that hang like strings of pearls. Up to 200 tons of the fruit are exported annually to Russia, Kazakhstan, and European countries. During the season, each family earns between 30 million UZS and 100 million UZS.

The harvest season is in full swing at collection points in the mahalla. They sort the harvested fruit and deliver it to buyers.
