The perspective of information partners on relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan
The integration process in Central Asia, especially the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, is reaching new levels across all aspects.
These processes are clearly reflected in the region’s information space.
UzA’s partner in Tajikistan – the National News Agency (Khovar) – published an analytical article titled “Tajikistan – Uzbekistan: Joint Actions on the Path to Strengthening Trust, Friendship, and Good Neighborliness”, which highlights the qualitatively new level of relations between the two countries achieved in recent years.
The treaty on allied relations signed on April 18, 2024, has elevated cooperation between the two states to a strategic level. The increase in political dialogue, the expansion of trade and economic ties, and the institutionalization of humanitarian cooperation help accelerate the integration process. The “C5+1” summit held in Washington, as well as the Treaty on the junction point of the state borders of the three countries signed in Khujand, demonstrate the development of a new cooperation model in Central Asia.
The author mentions that the Khujand Declaration has received positive recognition from the international community. Specifically, respected organizations such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Economic Cooperation Organization view this process as a significant step toward improving stability and cooperation in the region.
The article also highlights a new phase of cultural and humanitarian collaboration. The bond between the peoples is reinforced through mutual visits by theatrical groups, joint festivals, and cultural events.
The statement by Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan regarding the joint hosting of the 2031 Asian Cup highlights regional cooperation.
