The number of international students choosing to study in Uzbekistan has more than doubled

A total of 29,548 foreign nationals arrived in Uzbekistan for educational purposes from January through August 2026. 

According to the National Statistics Committee, this was 15,300 higher than in the same period of 2025, representing a 2.1-fold increase. 

By country, the largest number of foreign nationals arriving in Uzbekistan for educational purposes came from Turkmenistan, at 11,986, followed by India with 6,163, Tajikistan with 2,271, China with 1,311, Pakistan with 1,252, the Kyrgyz Republic with 1,028, Egypt with 852, the Republic of Korea with 732, and the Philippines with 620. An additional 3,333 people arrived from other countries.

These figures point to growing international interest in studying in Uzbekistan.
