The Lazgi Dance Festival concludes
The 3rd International Lazgi Dance Festival has successfully concluded in Khiva.
In 2019, “Khorezm Lazgi” was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO.
The festival, held every other year since 2022, took place for the third time this year. It was organized under the auspices of UNESCO and TURKSOY.
More than 300 dance masters, professional ensembles, art historians, musicologists, and renowned cultural figures from 30 countries took part in this year’s festival.
At the closing ceremony, national dances from various peoples were performed. The audience experienced the harmony of cultures and traditions, once again witnessing the unifying power of art.
The festival contributed to strengthening friendship, mutual respect, and cultural rapprochement among nations.
The winners of the international dance competition were announced. Twenty-five ensembles from 13 countries competed in the two-day contest. An international jury of seven members evaluated the performers’ skills. Murat Karakoz from Kazakhstan received the special TURKSOY statuette and a $1,000 prize.
Third place:
– “Best Solo Dance” – Shohjakhon Berdibekov (Uzbekistan);
– “Best Dance Ensemble” – Kryzhachok (Belarus);
– “Best Choreographic Production” – Bukhoro Mavjlari (Uzbekistan).
The winners were awarded diplomas, statuettes, and $2,000 cash prizes.
Second place:
– Yoqutkhon Khasanova (Uzbekistan) and Amina Aliyeva (Azerbaijan);
– Sema Ensemble (Azerbaijan);
– Saltanat Ensemble (Kazakhstan).
They were awarded $3,000 in prizes.
First place:
– Karina Kalpakova (Russia, Bashkortostan) and Nodira Seidjanova (Uzbekistan);
– Omsk State Russian Folk Ensemble (Russia);
– Beijing Dance Academy Ensemble (China).
The winners were awarded $5,000 in prizes.
Mohira Jovliyeva from Uzbekistan won the festival’s Grand Prix. She was awarded $7,000, a diploma, and a statuette.
In addition, active participants were recognized in several other nominations within the framework of the festival.
