“Territory of Innovation”: AI cyber battles and robot police officers
The “Territory of Innovation” has opened at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) — Roscongress’ flagship project in technology, science, and venture investment.
As Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of Russia and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee, noted, key trends shaping the technological landscape of Russian business and its competitiveness in global markets are being discussed here. Participants are learning about developments from major corporations and startups, engaging with their creators, and discussing the accessibility of new products for small and medium-sized businesses in the regions, cybersecurity issues, dependence on foreign products, the cost of implementing technologies, and issues related to robotics, quantum technologies, and biotechnology. Issues related to bringing corporate IT solutions to the market were also considered.
An exhibition was organized as part of the event, showcasing strategies for cooperation among business, science, and the state to create competitive, industry-specific solutions. The Positive Technologies stand hosted the Standoff cyber battle of artificial intelligences, which demonstrated, as realistically as possible, how AI is changing cybersecurity. At the cyber range, where digital replicas of real companies’ industries and infrastructure were recreated, an autonomous AI agent attempted to attack the oil and gas industry: to find vulnerabilities, move along the attack chain, and bring it to a critical scenario. In parallel, a defending AI agent investigated the incident, reconstructed the course of the attack, and identified the vulnerable point. The company also presented its Positive Labs laboratory, featuring the latest methods for researching the security of modern devices.
A historic digital tour of ER-Telecom Holding’s headquarters in Saint Petersburg was held. A special digital project showcased how the historic space was revitalized and transformed into a modern platform for developing future technologies while preserving the era’s atmosphere and architectural character.
Developers from Elektromotiv presented a robot police officer capable of replacing two or three patrol officers, as well as a robot gardener. Bitrobotics presented a modular robot packer for food production facilities. Applied Robotics LLC presented an underwater robot with AI vision. Kashalot LLC demonstrated an all-terrain electric vehicle with a quick-change ski and an IT module for monitoring the urban environment: the device adapts to the season and independently regulates its speed and route.
The exhibition also features drone-suppression stations, AI video monitoring for construction sites, biometric terminals with a local neural network, flexible solar panels, and much more.
The “Territory of Innovation” is open throughout all days of SPIEF.
