Success of Karakalpak students
The VI Open Mathematical Olympiad for University Students – OMOUS 2026 was held in Ashgabat.
A total of 87 teams participated in the competition, representing leading higher education institutions from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Germany, Greece, Iran, Hungary, the Netherlands, Tajikistan, and the United Arab Emirates.
Students of Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh and Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Ajiniyaz demonstrated high results. A student of the Faculty of Mathematics at Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh, Indira Satniyazova, won a silver medal, while Damir Dilmuratov, Sunkat Maksatov, Fayzulla Mahambetaliyev, Ikrom Jumabayev, Akmal Allambergenov, Aydos Userbayev, Ravshanoy Yuldasheva, Ilyas Jenigisbayev, and Khurliman Kuylibayeva received bronze medals. Two university teams also performed successfully in the team standings and were awarded bronze medals.
Fourth-year students of the “Mathematics and Computer Science” program at Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Ajiniyaz Bakhram Allakuatov, namely Ismetulla Naurizbayev, Umida Makhsutova, and Sayipbek Nuratdinov, a second-year “Mathematics” student, took third place in the individual competition and were awarded bronze medals.
