Shohruhkhon Bakhtiyorov wins the Asian Games

Uzbekistan’s athletes secured 2 gold and 1 bronze medal at the wrestling championships of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

In the finals, Shohruhkhon Bakhtiyorov (+90 kg), a member of the Uzbekistan national team, faced Shakarmamad Mirmamadov of Tajikistan. He won the match 5:0 and became the Asian Games champion. This achievement secured the 10th gold medal for the Uzbekistan delegation.

In addition, Bekmurod Oltiboyev was awarded a bronze medal in this weight class. In the women’s -57 kg weight class, Ibodatkhon Agojonova defeated all her opponents to become the Asian Games champion.

Thus, the number of medals has reached 37 in total, with 10 gold, 17 silver, and 10 bronze, and the team is ranked fourth in the overall standings.
