Serge Haroche visits Uzbekistan

One of the leading figures in world science – Nobel Prize laureate in Physics, Professor Serge Haroche – visits Tashkent to participate in the international festival “Engineers of the Future”.

The visit by the scientist, who has worked at leading research centers around the world – the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, and Yale University – became a kind of masterclass for young researchers in Uzbekistan.

At Samarkand State University, Serge Haroche met with more than 200 young scientists, doctoral students, and talented students. The professor informed them about developments in the quantum world, shared his personal scientific experience, and explained the complexities behind new inventions. The Rector of Samarkand State University, Professor Rustam Kholmuradov, awarded Serge Haroche the title of Honorary Professor of the university in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of world science.
