Results of reforms in statistics presented
A presentation dedicated to Uzbekistan’s statistical reforms and achievements was held at the World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Vice-Chair of the Bureau of the UN Statistical Commission, Behzod Khamraev, who presented a report on the work underway in the country to reform the statistical system.
Particular attention was paid to institutional reforms. In particular, information was presented on the reorganization of the Statistics Agency into the National Statistics Committee, the establishment of a Statistics Council and a Transformation Office, and approaches to strengthening human resources capacity, accelerating digitalization, and aligning activities with international standards.
Priority areas of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics for 2026-2030 were also discussed. The strategy aims to improve the efficiency of statistical data collection and processing.
