President of Uzbekistan visits CIS National Cuisine Festival
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the heads of delegations from the Commonwealth of Independent States, visited the National Cuisine Festival at the Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan.
The festival showcased the culinary traditions of nine countries: Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

At Uzbekistan’s national pavilion, guests were served baked goods from across the country, confectionery, and dried fruits, and were introduced to centuries-old breadmaking traditions. Chefs demonstrated how to prepare several types of samsa and traditional Khorezm dishes, including shivit oshi, tukhum barak, and local flatbreads. Guests were also introduced to the variety of Uzbek pilaf and other dishes of the national cuisine.

Part of the exhibition focused on traditional crafts. Artisans from Rishtan, Bukhara, Margilan, and Samarkand showcased their products and demonstrated the traditional techniques used to make them. Traditional music performances further enhanced the festive atmosphere.
After visiting Uzbekistan’s pavilion, the delegation heads toured exhibitions hosted by the other participating countries.
