President of Uzbekistan highlights broad opportunities to strengthen the partnership with Denmark
On October 2, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark, who arrived in the country for an official visit.
The practical aspects of expanding relations between Uzbekistan and Denmark in the political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were reviewed.

The substantial intensification of bilateral cooperation was noted with satisfaction. Last year, Uzbekistan appointed its first ambassador to Denmark, based in Stockholm. This year, Denmark appointed a special representative for Central Asia.
In recent years, bilateral trade has increased almost fivefold. Joint projects involving leading Danish companies are being implemented in Uzbekistan across the mining, chemical and food industries, agriculture, water supply, and other sectors.

The importance of expanding mutual trade and attracting Danish investment, advanced technologies, and know-how in energy, pharmaceuticals, transportation and logistics, the agro-industrial sector, and other promising areas was emphasized.
The significant potential for cooperation in education, culture, and tourism was also noted.

Views were also exchanged on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to strengthen the institutional and legal framework supporting the systematic expansion of cooperation.
