New chapter in Uzbekistan – American cooperation in academic music
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Chicago, United States, between the Creative Association of Academic Instrumental Performance of Uzbekistan and the Chicago School of Violin Making.
The memorandum establishes a foundation for a long-term partnership to expand professional cooperation, share knowledge and experience, and adapt advanced international practices to the needs of Uzbekistan’s music sector.
A key area of cooperation will be arranging visits to Uzbekistan by faculty, students, and specialists from the Chicago School of Violin Making.
The partnership plans to hold joint masterclasses, hands-on workshops, educational programs and professional meetings with American specialists, Uzbek musicians, educators and young instrument makers.
Particular attention will be paid to the manufacture, restoration, tuning, and maintenance of bowed string instruments, along with the study of international practices for assessing their quality and ensuring they remain in proper technical condition.
Another key area of cooperation will be developing bilateral educational exchanges, giving representatives from Uzbekistan firsthand exposure to their American counterparts’ professional methods and practical experience in the educational and workshop settings of the Chicago School of Violin Making.
