Measures to improve Uzbekistan’s position in international ratings and indexes considered
During the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms meeting, the National Report on enhancing Uzbekistan’s position in key international ratings and indices was discussed.
As a result of the reforms aimed at creating a competitive market economy, Uzbekistan has risen by 6 positions in the Index of Economic Freedom, ranking 100th in 2025.

In addition, Uzbekistan has improved its ranking in the Competitive Industrial Performance Index, rising 5 positions to 83rd among 153 countries.

The results of the intellectual property reforms were discussed at the meeting. In particular, the term of copyright protection has been extended from 50 to 70 years. During 2025, 1,257 influence measures were implemented, and the rights to 2,608 intellectual property objects were protected.

The senators put forward proposals to set targets for priority ratings and indexes, coordinate the activities of responsible government agencies, and develop industry-specific roadmaps.
