Leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discuss bilateral agenda
On the sidelines of the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States taking place in Turkestan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov.
The parties reviewed matters related to strengthening friendship, good-neighborliness, and a comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The leaders expressed satisfaction with the dynamic growth in bilateral trade and the progress of cooperation projects in industry, agriculture, water management, and other priority sectors. Cultural and humanitarian exchanges are also expanding.
The practical implementation of high-level agreements was discussed. Particular attention was given to measures to accelerate major regional projects in energy and transport connectivity, including the construction of the China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway.
The Presidents also exchanged views on key aspects of the regional agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming high-level events.
