Electricity generation rose by 7.8% from January to July
The Ministry of Energy reports that from January to July 2026, the country produced 54.3 billion kWh of electricity. This is 3.9 billion kWh, or 7.8%, higher than in the same period the previous year.
Out of the total electricity generated, 38.9 billion kWh came from thermal power plants, 7.5 billion kWh from large-scale solar and wind facilities, 5.4 billion kWh from hydropower plants, 1.9 billion kWh from small-scale solar panels, and 593.7 million kWh from block stations.
Between January and July, the country’s electricity consumption reached 52.9 billion kWh. This represents an increase of 2.6 billion kWh, or 5.2%, compared to the same period in 2025.
In July this year, the country generated 8.9 billion kWh of electricity, up 920.3 million kWh, or 11.6%, from the same period last year.
Electricity consumption in July reached 8.8 billion kWh, up 638.8 million kWh, or 7.8%, from the same month last year.
