Chinese delegation praises Uzbekistan’s growing international prestige

The Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddin Ismoilov met with a delegation led by Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The guests received detailed information on extensive reforms in Uzbekistan and updates on parliamentary activities. The discussion also highlighted the need to strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and China through meaningful engagement, sharing legislative experiences, boosting the work of interparliamentary friendship groups, and maintaining dialogue on international and regional matters.

In turn, Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, particularly noted the current high level of relations between Uzbekistan and China. The Chinese side highly appreciated the growing international standing of the President of Uzbekistan and the country’s increasing prestige in the global community.

The guest also mentioned that Uzbekistan hosted its first international conference outside China as part of the Central Asia – China Political Parties Dialogue, and highlighted that this significant event was successfully conducted. He also praised the Uzbekistan Parliament for its initiatives to foster interparliamentary relations and for its efforts in organizing bilateral events. 

During the meeting, the parties discussed elevating interparliamentary cooperation and strengthening parliaments’ responsibility for implementing agreements made at the highest level. They also discussed strengthening interparliamentary friendship groups and increasing direct interactions between deputies and political parties.
