American Canadian Uzbek Lawyers Association established in Washington
The American Canadian Uzbek Lawyers Association (ACULA) held its founding congress at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, D.C. The association brings together Uzbek lawyers working in the United States and Canada and provides a platform for professional collaboration.
Its main goals are to build closer ties among Uzbek lawyers living abroad, share professional knowledge and experience, support young legal professionals, and develop legal and academic cooperation between Uzbekistan, the United States and Canada.

Participants discussed the association’s main areas of work and plans. Proposed initiatives included regular meetings, seminars, and training sessions, mentorship programs for young lawyers, and joint projects with law schools and research institutions in Uzbekistan.
The association’s leadership was also formed during the founding congress. Following an election contested by seven candidates, lawyer Erkinboy Abdullayev was elected President of ACULA, securing 44 percent of the vote.
In addition, on the President’s recommendation, the Board of Directors approved the appointment of Canada-based lawyer Rahmadjon Sobirov as Vice President of the association.
The establishment of ACULA aims to bring together the professional expertise of Uzbek lawyers abroad, expand professional development opportunities for young specialists, and strengthen international cooperation in the legal field.
