Akilbek Piyazov wins the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition
The 11th Renata Tebaldi Voice Competition – Opera Section has announced its winners following the final round of the prestigious international competition.
The winners and prize recipients were announced at the final concert at the Concordia Theatre in San Marino. Opera singers from various countries competed in the prestigious international competition.
The jury awarded first prize to Uzbekistan’s baritone Akilbek Piyazov, who received EUR 5,000 and a contract offered by the jury chair, the Ministry of Culture reports.
The Audience Prize and the Critics’ Prize were both awarded to Florentine Schumacher, German soprano.
Akilbek Piyazov, a young Uzbek vocalist, securing first place at this prestigious international competition, highlights a significant milestone in the advancement of opera and vocal art in Uzbekistan. It also underscores the increasing international recognition and professional skill of young performers from the country.
