ACWA Power and ADB sign $174 million agreement
According to the Ministry of Energy, the Asian Development Bank and Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power signed a loan agreement for $174 million as part of the construction of two large wind farms in Gijduvan and Peshkun districts of Bukhara region.
By installing 158 wind turbines with a total capacity of 1 GW at these stations, 3.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity will be produced annually. As a result of the launch of these stations, 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year will be saved and the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere for 1 million tons will be prevented.
These major projects are being implemented in accordance with Presidential resolutions of February 23, 2021.
The power plants are scheduled to be put into operation at the end of 2024.
