$44.3 billion in foreign investment and loans used in 9 months
At a session of the lower house of parliament, lawmakers reviewed a response from the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade L. Kudratov to a parliamentary inquiry on efforts to monitor the implementation of foreign investment projects in the regions, assess investment efficiency and improve mechanisms for working with investors.
According to the response, a total of $44.3 billion in foreign investment and loans was used between January and September this year. During this period, 106 major projects worth $3.8 billion were commissioned, creating 13,800 jobs.
Efforts are also underway to digitally monitor investment project implementation, promptly identify emerging problems, improve the management of special economic zones, and ensure the efficient use of foreign loans guaranteed by the government.
A new version of the Law on Special Economic Zones has been drafted to strengthen the legal framework governing these zones. Measures to support exporters are being aligned with the country’s international trade obligations.
During the discussion, lawmakers emphasized the need to improve investment efficiency, select projects with high economic returns based on each region’s potential and specialization, and strengthen cooperation with local enterprises.
Following consideration of the response to the parliamentary inquiry, a corresponding decision was adopted.
