Uzbekistan’s experience in the agricultural sector presented in Geneva

The delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the UNECE Region, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva.

Within the framework of the event, the Ministry organized a roundtable discussion on improving the system of state support in agriculture and on institutional reforms for sustainability and climate transformation.

Large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector were discussed. Special attention was paid to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the government support system, adapting to climate change, and improving institutional mechanisms.

New approaches to supporting agriculture, digitalization, and improving the subsidy system were presented.

The parties exchanged views on effective management of public finances and expansion of international cooperation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
