Uzbekistan and the United States discuss expanding trade and investment cooperation
The Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce David Fogel.
The parties discussed current issues in developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States. Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation in trade and investment, as well as promising areas of economic partnership. It was noted that American companies are increasingly interested in investment and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan. The importance of converting this interest into concrete projects that promote job creation, attract investment, and develop the national economy was emphasized.
The parties also discussed the activities of the American – Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council, which plays a key role in strengthening ties between the business communities of the two countries, promotes practical cooperation, and supports the implementation of joint initiatives.
Following the meeting, mutual interest in deepening the trade-economic partnership was confirmed.
