Uzbekistan and Japan strengthen cooperation in the energy sector
The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Khodjaev met with the State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Kenji Yamada.
The parties exchanged views on prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, effectively implementing existing projects, and promoting new projects.
The parties also reviewed the progress of major projects implemented in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Japanese energy companies. These include initiatives to develop generating capacity, improve power transmission networks, and modernize the gas transportation infrastructure.

Special attention was paid to expanding investment cooperation in the energy sector, attracting advanced technologies and identifying new areas for long-term partnership.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to support ongoing projects, promote new ones, and continue energy cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.
