The New Uzbekistan parliament: reforms, initiatives, and future development prospects
At the initiative of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment and Tourism, a roundtable entitled “The people’s parliament in New Uzbekistan: reforms, initiatives and development prospects” was held to mark the International Day of Parliamentarism.
The event was attended by senators, representatives of ministries and agencies, scholars from research and educational institutions, experts from analytical centers, members of the expert group under the Committee, representatives of the Senate Youth Parliament, and members of the media.
The participants heard reports on the development of interparliamentary cooperation, strengthening engagement with international parliamentary organizations, the application of scientific and analytical approaches to the legislative process, and the improvement of parliamentary oversight effectiveness. The experts presented several practical proposals and recommendations.
