The first Uzbek-language textbook on water resources management published
Green University in Tashkent hosted the presentation of a new textbook, “Integrated Water Resources Management”, which focuses on the efficient and sustainable use of water resources.
The event brought together sector officials, representatives of international organizations, scientists, university professors, and students. Participants emphasized the textbook’s role in bringing modern knowledge of water resources management into education and preparing qualified specialists.

This is the first Uzbek-language textbook on integrated water resources management to be published in Uzbekistan. It is recommended for master’s students across 19 higher education specializations. Russian- and English-language editions are planned.

Prepared by Sh. Murodov, A. Abduhakimov, and U. Turayev, the textbook combines modern water resources management methods with international experience and practices used in Uzbekistan.
“Amid intensifying climate change and water scarcity, the need for specialized educational literature in this field is growing. This textbook covers the theoretical foundations of sustainable water resources management, modern practical approaches, the principles of integrated water resources management, basin planning, transboundary water resources management, water legislation, and the experience of Uzbekistan, Central Asia, and the wider world”, said Professor Shukhrat Murodov, one of the book’s authors.
