Tashkent 2026: New world champions
Another day of the World Taekwondo Junior Championships in Tashkent proved successful for members of the Uzbekistan national team.
In the -48 kg weight category, Yesinbek Odilov defeated Dawood Al-Yusufi of Oman 2:0 in the final to become world champion, while in the -55 kg category, Mohammad Khodaei (Iran), Liu Zixuan (China), Klara Uglesic (Croatia), Hala Hany Omar (Egypt), and Aminat Ramazanova (Russia).
Today, four representatives of Uzbekistan will compete for victory. In the -42 kg weight category, Zukhra Ismailbaeva will compete in the 1/16 round. Her opponent will be the winner of the bout between Enea Brunet (France) and Shakhrizoda Akramova (Kazakhstan). At the same stage, Sitora Asrorova (+68 kg) will compete against Sara Žujić of Croatia.
Among men in different weight categories, Akhadjon Mukhtarov and Shokhjahon Kholmuradov will compete in the 1/16 round.
