President of Mongolia visits the National Pavilion of Uzbekistan

During the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in Ulaanbaatar, the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh visited Uzbekistan’s National Pavilion.

He was accompanied by Aziz Abduhakimov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Environmental Issues, Chairman of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change.

During the visit, the President of Mongolia was briefed on the large-scale environmental reforms underway in Uzbekistan. The parties also exchanged views on environmental protection, climate change, and development of cooperation between the two countries.

Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh highly praised Uzbekistan’s initiatives and the efforts underway to address environmental challenges. The Mongolian side expressed its readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation to address environmental and climate-related issues.
