Leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia discuss the current agenda for bilateral relations
On May 8, as part of the program of events, a meeting between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took place in Moscow.
At the beginning of the conversation, the heads of the two states exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Victory.
The parties reviewed issues related to expanding and strengthening a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, in the context of implementing agreements reached during prior high-level contacts.
Satisfaction was expressed regarding the steady growth in trade volumes and the successful implementation of projects across industry, energy, metallurgy, and other sectors.
The importance of taking coordinated measures to maintain the momentum of trade turnover, accelerate cooperation projects in priority sectors, and continue active contacts at the regional level was emphasized.
Special attention was given to ensuring intensive cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia also exchanged views on issues on the international agenda.
